Parov Stelar, alias Marcus Füreder, is considered the inventor of electro swing. With his unmistakable sound and hits such as “Booty Swing,” “All Night,” and “Chambermaid,” he has conquered stages around the world and shaped a style that continues to enjoy international recognition today. But there is much more behind the pulsating beats. The global star from Upper Austria is not only a musician, he is also a painter and designer. With his new project “Artifact,” he presents a work that clearly sets itself apart from his previous creations: a cinematic journey, visually inspired by the great pioneers of the silent film era as well as the masters of pop art, with classic, almost sacred-sounding orchestral soundscapes that reinterpret his typical electronic samples and vocals.

The film not only traces Parov Stelar's unique career, it also provides insight into the creative processes behind Marcus Füreders art and soundscapes. Driven by irrepressible curiosity and a desire to constantly reinvent himself, the 51-year-old explores the boundaries between music and painting. Between analog and digital, stage and studio, euphoria and melancholy, his works illustrate how much his art is also shaped by inner struggles and doubts, as well as by the constant search for new forms of expression.
